The Academy's work is based on what concerns our members and what is important to society.
We create change there,
where it is most needed
No one can solve complex societal challenges alone. But when we pool our knowledge, experience, and drive, we can move both each other and society forward.
At the Academy, we work with social agendas where social innovation and community make a real difference. We work across disciplines and industries, and it is our members who set the direction. We achieve results together; in working groups, through strong member relationships, and via partnerships across sectors.
Green transition
The green transition is also a social transition. We need to rethink the way we work, live, travel, and live together. This requires action across all sectors and levels of society, not least at the local level. The Academy works to expand and strengthen local involvement and agency in the transformation of our landscapes, including in the Green Tripartite. We are also investigating the interaction between nature, climate, and welfare. Through cross-sector partnerships, knowledge sharing, and experimental approaches, we are working to broaden the conversation about our shared green future.
The welfare of the future
Our welfare society is under pressure. There is a shortage of labor in key welfare areas, and the social contract is being challenged when welfare services do not meet the expectations of the population. At the same time, we are seeing accelerating ecological crises, which are exacerbated by the way our society is structured. The Academy works to promote a new understanding of welfare, where well-being, nature, and community go hand in hand.
Young people's well-being and education
Young people outside society's fundamental communities are a social problem we have been struggling with for decades, with major human and social consequences. Many young people experience stress, loneliness, and mental health challenges that can have lasting effects well into adulthood. It is crucial to understand and support young people's opportunities to find a way into communities, both for their own development and for the future of our welfare society.
